New Minimum Wages for 2023

The Council of Representatives of the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONASAMI) approved, on December 1, 2022, a 20% increase to the current general minimum wage of 172.87 pesos and the minimum wage in the North Border Free Zone of $260.34.

The new minimum wages were determined by a direct increase of 10%, plus the amount of 15.72 pesos for the Independent Recovery Amount (MIR) for the general minimum wage and $23.67 for the minimum wage in the North Border Free Zone.

Derived from the aforementioned modifications, the new general minimum wage as of January 1, 2023, will be 207.44 pesos and the minimum wage in the Northern Border Free Zone will be 312.41 pesos.

Professional minimum wages will also receive a 20% increase.
